It seems like yesterday that we were eating ice-cream and throwing antiqued hardware off the Steel Bridge with Emily + Rob for their Portland-centric engagement shoot, and we were crazy excited for what promised to be a photographers' dream of a wedding: girls' (and guy's) pampering at the salon, intimate secret garden rehearsal dinner, the dry-run wedding at the gorgeous Peninsula Park...but the main draw for us were Emily + Rob, themselves. This super sweet couple are beyond endearing, and the photographs below - a mere handful of many, as there were too many to choose from - illustrate the joyful timeline of what everyone involved obviously felt was a long time coming.
Champagne was popped, and Rob jumped right on it - enjoying his mani/pedi, and having his toes painted forest green while chatting on the phone, just like one of the goils.
Peninsula Park was in full bloom, and even though staggeringly hot, it was difficult to not be swept up in the gorgeous surrounds.
Emily looking cool, and commandeering the wedding party in the sweltering heat.
High fives for a rehearsal well-done!
Rob's parents arranged a truly incredible backyard party for the rehearsal dinner - the carefully landscaped foliage creating a magical respite from the heat of the day.
Pre-wedding toasts for this much-loved couple.
One of the best parts of any wedding is the calm before the storm - as the Bride and Bridesmaids prepare for the big event. Emily's sister-in-law, Trista, hosted the gathering at her adorable St. John's farmhouse, and in this cosy environment (and with Mom's assistance), Emily magically transformed from gorgeous girl to beautiful Bride.
Groomsmen getting the finishing touches...
A classic, beautiful wedding full of heart and soul.
Rob signing the certificate <3
We were so fortunate to find shade in a picturesque section of the rose garden, where Emily looked utterly stunning - we could have photographed this for hours.
Difficult to stay serious with this kind of malarky!
Adorable baby Kassidy and her beloved basket, plus Emily with her Maid of Honor, Whitney. I have never, ever witnessed a more dedicated and giving companion to a bride - she was incredible.
Rob and his Best Man, Dan. These two had such a deep, loving friendship, and were an absolute joy to photograph and be around.
While everyone danced and drank and celebrated, we stole Emily & Rob away for some final shots in the evening light - their signature cocktails were pretty perfect (like this couple!).
One of my favourite shots of Rob.
We were so thankful to be involved in the marriage of this wonderful couple. Both Emily + Rob shower their friends and family in such warmth and love, and we hope to continue to play a part in the photographic journey of their lives for many years to come.
